Gabriel Ferreira, MD, is a glaucoma fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at Eye Care & Surgery in New York City, which has two locations in Washington Heights, Manhattan, and another near the Grand Concourse in the Bronx, right across the street from Yankee Stadium. Dr. Ferreira specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology, including manual and laser-assisted cataract surgery, refractive surgery (LASIK and PRK), and glaucoma surgery. He is a New York native who is fluent in English and Spanish.

Dr. Ferreira received his undergraduate degree in psychology from Binghamton University in New York. He joined a research team at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, where he studied the role of health education in diabetes outcomes. Dr. Ferreira earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, where he participated in various research studies at the world-renowned Wills Eye Hospital.

After medical school, Dr. Ferreira completed an internship at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital in New York, and a three-year residency at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York. He finished his education with a fellowship at the University of South Florida in Tampa, where he trained in glaucoma management, including incisional surgery, laser surgery, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.

Dr. Ferreira has surgical privileges at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai in Manhattan’s East Village. He’s excited to welcome new and existing patients to Eye Care & Surgery.
